Description
The Sentiero delle Ochette winds across the vast Cuneo plain surrounding Cardè, offering a long, flat route along the banks of the area's historic irrigation canals. The trail extends for over forty kilometers through cultivated fields, rows of poplars, and traditional Piedmontese farmhouses, following the traces of the ancient waterways that shaped the area. The countryside it traverses retains an authentic rural charm, with sweeping views of the Cottian Alps to the west and the first hills of the Saluzzo region. Suitable for experienced hikers or cyclists, the trail requires good physical fitness due to its overall length. It's recommended to bring plenty of water and provisions, possibly splitting the route into two legs.
