Swallows on the Bormida

The short Rondini sul Bormida trail offers an accessible walk along the banks of the river that flows through the medieval village of Monesiglio. Just two and a half kilometers long and with minimal elevation gain, it's an ideal excursion for families and those seeking a relaxing connection with the riverine nature of the Langhe. The route runs alongside the Bormida di Millesimo River, where it's not uncommon to spot herons and kingfishers. Monesiglio's historic center, dominated by its medieval tower, is worth a visit before or after the walk. The area is famous for its Dolcetto wine production, and the surrounding woods yield prized truffles in the fall. Accessible in all seasons, the trail is particularly evocative on the foggy mornings of the Langhe autumn.
