GTA: Coda Refuge - Maletto

The section of the Grande Traversata delle Alpi (Great Alpine Crossing) from the Coda refuge to Maletto passes through one of the most spectacular mountain landscapes in the lower Aosta Valley, in the Quincinetto area. The trail winds through an alpine environment, passing through high-altitude pastures, scree slopes, and larch forests, offering extraordinary views of the Monte Rosa mountain range and the valleys below. The route is part of the renowned GTA (Global Alpine Trail), a route that traverses the entire Piedmont Alps, and is a moderately difficult stage suitable for hikers with mountain trail experience. The area is rich in alpine flora and wildlife, with the possibility of spotting chamois and marmots.
