Via Alpina Blue D40

Stage D40 of the Via Alpina Blue passes through Salza di Pinerolo, a small municipality in the Waldensian Valleys in the Pinerolo area. The route winds through a breathtakingly beautiful mountain landscape, amidst coniferous forests, mountain pastures, and panoramic views of the peaks of the Cottian Alps. The route features a challenging elevation gain, requiring good physical fitness and appropriate equipment. Along the way, you pass through Waldensian villages rich in history and evidence of Alpine Occitan culture, in a landscape that alternates wooded areas with scenic clearings offering views of the Pinerolo plain and the surrounding mountains.
