Description
The stretch of the Great Alpine Crossing from Piamprato to Ronco Canavese passes through the Valprato Soana area, in the heart of the Gran Paradiso National Park. The route winds through a wild mountain environment, amidst larch forests, mountain pastures, and rocky terrain, with views of the peaks of the Gran Paradiso massif. The area is one of the best places in Italy for observing alpine wildlife: ibex, chamois, golden eagles, and bearded vultures populate these mountains. This is a fascinating natural itinerary that requires good physical fitness.
