Description
The Miramar Nature/Pespot Trail (CAI 9) is a shaded and scenic route between Miramare Station and the village of Contovello, on the karst slopes of the Gulf of Trieste. The trail passes through ancient terraces, dry stone walls, vineyards, and olive groves on the karst ridge, with glimpses of the Gulf and Miramare Castle. Drinking fountains and benches are located along the trail; the environment varies from karst heathland to hornbeam and downy oak forest.
