Description
The Noli-Voze Roman Road follows the route of the ancient Roman coastal road that connected the seaside village of Noli to the hilltop hamlet of Voze. The route, short but steeped in history, climbs gently on a well-preserved mule track paved with local stone, flanked by dry-stone walls covered in wild capers and ivy. The initial stretch passes through Porta di Piazza, the entrance to Noli's medieval walls, before entering terraced olive groves that testify to centuries of Ligurian cultivation. Halfway along the route, a stop at the Chapel of Sant'Anna offers a panoramic view of the bay. Arriving in Voze, a small hamlet with stone houses and vegetable gardens, allows you to visit the ancient washhouse still fed by the original spring. This route is ideal for families and suitable for all seasons—in winter, the warm colors of the stone and evergreen olive trees create a timeless atmosphere. You can return by the same route or by the road.
